BWPI will be provding Senior Competition for the 2011-12
Men - Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2
Women - Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2
Men and Women X Grade - social competition for players who wish to play in a strong competition without being part of the developmental pathway to Division 1 or 2. In the spirit of the social nature of this competition, all X Grade players must be 16 years or older. Exemptions, on an individual basis for players 15 years and under, can be sought from the BWPI Committee.
NOTE:- There will be no requirement by any Club to enter a team in every Division/Grade but the sustainability of any team (at least 12 regular players) may have to be proven before a nomination is accepted.
Depending on the number of teams entering each Grade, it is planned that
Men’s Division 1 and 2 will play on Tuesday nights at the Valley Pool.
Women’s Division 1 and 2 will play on Wednesday nights at the Valley Pool.
X Grade(Men and Women) will play at the Valley pool on Mondaynights.
Premier League - a pre National League/Elite competition - for Men (Club-based) and Women (National League-based) will be run again in the first part of this season.
Competition Dates
Premier League for Men will be run as a Club-based competition on Saturday afternoons at the Musgrave Pool. Dates - 8, 15, 22 October, 5, 12, 19 November with a final in early December (date TBA).
Premier League for Women will be structured within the training schedule of the two Brisbane-based National League teams, with games played on Saturday mornings at the All Hallows’ Pool. Dates TBA.
Men’s and Women’s Division 1 and 2 and X Grade competitions will run for 17 weeks, from the week commencing October 10 to the week commencing December 5, 2011 and from the week commencing January 23 to the week commencing March 12, 2012, with the semi-finals during the week commencing March 19 and finals on Sunday, March 25, 2012.
Duty Clubs / Table Official Duties
A Club’s / team’s commitment to fulfil these duties, when assigned, is a condition of BWPI’s acceptance of any team nomination. Arrangements will be made for each Division/Grade competition once the team numbers in each are known.
Refereeing
For the 2011-12 season, BWPI will be responsible for the appointment of the referees to all the Senior games - Premier League, Senior Division 1 and 2 and X Grade.
X Grade teams will be charged $130 for the season to cover the cost of BWPI supplying referees for these games.
For the Premier League and Senior Division 1 and 2 games the cost of payment of referees will be shared by BWPI (1/2 cost) and the competing Clubs in each competition game. Accounts will be sent out to the Clubs by BWPI twice during the season.
